May not be able to accommodate Dressage post entries; Entry Fee Refund Policy: All refunds charged a $25 handling fee. Cancellation must be received in writing before closing date. None after closing date. $25 fee for bounced checks; Stall Fee: $22/ night GMHA members, $35/ night non-members. Dressage Training Test 2, Single Pony 3. Dressage Training Test 2, Multiples Horse/Pony 4. Dressage Training Test 2, Novice Horse/Pony 5. Dressage Training Test 2, Maiden/Junior Driver 6. Dressage Prelim. Test 3, Single Horse 7. Dressage Prelim. Test 3, Single Pony 8. Dressage Prelim. Test 3, Multiples Horse/Pony Timed Obstacles: To be driven over a prescribed course of obstacles, not to exceed 20 obstacles. Course faults are assessed as penalty seconds and added to the driver’s elapsed time. Placings are determined on allow total time basis. NO CANTERING ALLOWED. There will be assigned times. Pick Your Route: To be driven over a course of obstacles with no set route. The number of obstacles to be proportionate to the dimensions of the driving area. Not to exceed 20 obstacles. 14. Pick Your Route, Maiden/Junior Driver Arena Obstacles: Driver negotiates two Marathon obstacles each driven twice. Obstacle consists of a series of lettered gates (A-D) through which the competitor must pass in the correct direction and sequence, after which they are “dead”. Placings determined by the lowest cumulative time. Combined Driving marathon attire is acceptable. No wire wheels. Navigators required on all 4-wheeled vehicles. 19. Arena Obstacles, Single Horse: Must complete Gates A-D. 20. Arena Obstacles, Single Pony: Must complete Gates A-D. 21. Arena Obstacles, Multiples Horse/ Pony: No Catering, must complete Gates A-C. 22. Arena Obstacles, Novice Horse/Pony: No cantering, must complete Gates A-C. 23. Arena Obstacles, Maiden/Junior Driver: No cantering, must complete Gates A-C. Pace: To be driven over a measured course of not more than two kilometers, course to include numerous water crossings and various terrain. Pace, Maiden/Junior Driver Sunday Super Reinsmanship: Judged primarily on the ability and skill of the driver. Drivers enter the ring individually and complete a series of figures at prescribed paces while negotiating a small number of cones. Drivers will receive a numerical score: 90% for handling of the reins and whip, control, posture and 10% for overall impression of the turnout,condition of the harness and vehicle and neatness of attire. 29. Super Reinsmanship, Single Horse 30. Super Reinsmanship, Single Pony 31. Super Reinsmanship, Multiples Horse/Pony 32. Super Reinsmanship, Novice Horse/Pony 33. Super Reinsmanship, Maiden/Junior Driver Pleasure Driving/Working: A Pleasure Driving class in which entries are judged primarily on the suitability of the Horse and/or Pony to provide a pleasant drive. To be shown both ways of the ring at a walk, slow trot, working trot, and a strong trot. To stand quietly both on the rail and while lined up and to rein back. All entries chosen for a work out to be worked both ways of the ring by the Judge and may be asked to execute a figure of eight. To be judged 70% on performance, manners and way of going, 20% on condition and fit of harness and vehicle and 10% on neatness of attire. 34. Working, Maiden/ Junior Driver 35. Working, Novice Horse/ Pony 36. Working, Multiples Horse/Pony 37. Working, Single Pony 38. Working, Single Horse 39. Concours d’ Elegance, Open - Will be a driven class. The essence of the competition is the word “Elegance”. The winner will be the turnout, which, in the opinion of the Judge, presents the most elegant effect. This will include vehicle, harness appointments, horses, drivers, passengers, grooms, etc., but above all, general impression is the most important. Vehicle and Harness may be inspected to insure thoughtful restoration and careful maintenance. Attention will be paid to the personal appearance of the driver, grooms and passengers as it contributes to the overall picture. Period costumes are definitely prohibited. Performance will not be judged unless it detracts from the elegance of the turnout. 40. Working Ladies to Drive, Open 41. Working Gentlemen to Drive, Open 42. Carriage Dog Awards Offered: Six ribbons per class; High Point Awards (Champion and Reserve) for: Single Horse- Champion also receives Perpetual Trophy in Memory of Frances Bryant: (1, 6, 9, 14, 19, 24, 29, 38), Single Pony- Champion also receives Milton Long Perpetual Trophy: (2, 7, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 37), Multiples Horse/ Pony: (3, 8, 11, 16, 21, 26, 31, 36), Novice Horse/ Pony: (4, 12, 17, 22, 27, 32, 35), and Maiden/ Junior Driver: (5, 13, 18, 23, 28, 33, 34). Other awards include High Point of the Show Perpetual Trophy, Donated by Claire and Willard Rhodes (all classes except Double Jeopardy); Antique Carriage Championship Ribbon and Trophy. Misc. Class Info: Classes may be combined at management’s discretion. Refer to www.gmhainc.org for complete class description Other Information Veterinary/Health Requirements: Negative Coggins within: 1 year must be included with entry. Stabling Information: Permanent stalls with doors. Misc. Show info : Limited parking. All Junior Drivers must wear approved helmets as per ADS rules. Maiden driver: has not won a blue ribbon in any ADS function; Novice Horse: has not won more than three blue ribbons in any ADS recognized function. The committee reserves the right to decline any entry, and to return any entry fee before or during the competition without being liable for compensation. No entry will be accepted without full payment. No driver, horse, pony, groom, nor passenger may appear more than once in any one obstacle class, nor more than once around the same cross country course. Wire wheels will not be allowed, with the exception of antique vehicles with long wire spokes and hard rubber tires. Unleased dogs will be impounded and charged $30 bail.
