Tentative Schedule

Stable Opens: Fri. 10 am Contact Organizer if arriving before Fri. Secretary’s Office Opens: Fri. 4 pm Start of First Class: 9 am each day; Course Walk and Briefings: Course walks open until start of show, and as specified in Prize List. Briefing Fri 6 pm is strongly encouraged.; Social Events: Fri pm: Competitors’ Reception, 7-9 pm and Saturday evening: dinner on grounds; Living History Farms Horse & Buggy Days (horse drawn activities) throughout weekend. Awards Ceremony Sun. approx. 1/2 hour after end of last class.

Classes

Total # of Classes Offered: 36 Summary of Classes Offered: Classes for Divisional Championships: Turnout, Working Pleasure, Designer Reinsmanship, Cross Country, Pick Your Route, Numbered Cones, participation Sat. and Sun. in Horse & Pony Promenade for Open Divisions. Additional Classes Offered: Working Ladies to Drive, Working Gentlemen to Drive, Carriage Dog, Cone Weaving, Reverse Psychology, Concours d’Elegance Ring/Warm-up Footing: Grass Obstacle Class Notes: Cross Country will be under a 1 mile on grass. Awards Offered: Division Championships and Reserve, Concours d’Elegance, all classes: 1-6 places (except Horse & Pony Promenade). Bob Riley Memorial Horsemanship Award, Hi-Point MorganMisc. Class Info: Participation in Horse & Pony Promenade is REQUIRED both Sat. and Sun. for all OPEN competitors to be eligible for Division Championship or Reserve.

Other Information

Veterinary/Health Requirements: Neg. Coggins within 12 months of show on out of state horses. Health certif. w/in 30 days on ALL horses (competing dogs must show current health certificate and rabies vaccination certificate)

Stabling Information: 10 x 10 box stall under tent. One bag of shavings included. Stabling limited - first come, first served. Tack stalls available only after all stabling entries are accommodated. Stabling closes Aug. 31st.

Misc. Show info: Show on the grounds of the beautiful and awardwinning Living History Farms. All competitors welcome to drive throughout the Farm’s 600 acres. The show will close mid-day each day so competitors may drive in the Main Street Horse & Pony Promenade through an historic 1890’s town. All turnouts welcome, however, Open Divisions MUST drive in the Promenade BOTH days to be considered for Division Championships and Reserves. Indicate participation to HMCC secretary or on entry form.

Directions to Show: I-80/35 on the west side of Des Moines. Take exit 125 (Hickman Rd./Hwy 6) go east to first stop light, turn north into road (NW 111th Street) to farm. Follow signs to stabling area.
